A cow and her favourite rock

This cow was enjoying the early morning sunshine on a hillside in Crummackdale, in the Yorkshire Dales. I had to take a photo, not least because I loved the way her ears contrasted to the hills behind (Cows do have great ears!).

This sheep was in the shade just next to the road that runs between Malham and Malham Tarn in the Yorkshire Dales. It was a very warm day and still having most of a full coat couldn’t have helped her stay cool. She looked fairly happy under the tree though.
